DAS PHOTONICS is a spin-off company from the Valencia Nanophotonics Technology Center (www.ntc.upv.es) at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia in Spain. DAS develops innovative products using proprietary photonics technology for several high-performance industries:

• Defence and security
• Avionics/Aeronautics
• Space
• Telecom

PHOTONICS is the field of science that studies the generation, transmission, detection and processing of optical signals. We lead product development using a double approach: designing photonics integrated circuits (PICs - chips that process optical signals); as well as integrating COTS devices and devices built by DAS for specific uses (microwave photonic systems, optical interconnects, etc.).

DAS products are aimed at highly specialised applications with requirements that go beyond the technological limits of conventional electronic systems. This means that photonics technology enables us to offer solutions with high added value.

The clear competitive advantage of DAS and the resulting entry barrier is based on the knowledge and specialisation of our PhD engineering team. Nearly two decades of university research experience -combined with our ability to handle highly specialised product development- has enabled DAS Photonics to establish a leading role in Europe.
